A few months back I was on a job that required me to use a very expensive canon 50mm 1.4 lens which retails about $300. Long story short, I ended up losing the lens in all the running around and when I needed my 50mm lens it was nowhere to be found. I spent months looking high and low for it and it never came up. In the end, after searching for comparable lenses that weren't so expensive I purchased the new Canon 50mm f1.8 stm lens. On a nature walk to the Mystery Spot in the Santa Cruz mountains, I snapped some photos and came up with this image. The sharpness of the flower in the middle and the beautiful creamy tones from using the maximum depth of field at about 3 feet, I landed this beautiful photo. I will release the file to you as a jpeg to enjoy the beauty as much as I do. Thankfully, if you are looking for a great prime lens that is very inexpensive, around $125 US, then you can find it on Amazon.com!

Read More2016 marks a keystone in the Atlas Photography SJ books. This year we have become members of the Professional Photographers of America Association and also the Professional Photographers of Santa Clara Valley. This means that we have taken the oath " Use the highest levels of professionalism, honesty and integrity in all relationships with colleagues, clients and the general public. We have declared our candidacy and taken the written portion of the exam. Our next step is to begin the image submission once we have passed the exam. We have about two more weeks until we find out the results. Lastly, It is our goal to align ourselves with the most trusted organizations local, nationally and on a global scale to insure the success, quality and purity of being a professional photographer.
